2008 brought a lot of changes for us with the purchase of a local business. We found it difficult to keep up with all of our livestock and our new business. We cut down on some of the livestock but NONE of the myotonics. I love my goats and when needed, hire a little outside help to stay on top of it all. I am working to update the website and hopefully will be able to do it more often so check back for new changes.

The "Fainting Goat"
Bailey in a Faint

We have been raising goats now for well over 10 years now, and have been a member of the International Fainting Goat Association since 1999. All of our Fainting Goats are registered. Currently we have a small herd of 30 fainters with several kids for sale.

Fainting goats are truly an incredible animal. They have a condition called mytonia, which is caused by a combination of recessive genes that cause them to stiffen, lock up, and fall over when startled. It only lasts several seconds and is not harmful to them in any way, and in fact, creates a more muscled goat.

It isn't just the "fainting" that makes these animals so incredible. They are a very hardy breed and are docile by nature. They are excellent with children. Their disposition ranges from extremely friendly to some that are a bit more timid. It seems the more timid they are the better they faint. They come in a beautiful range of colors and hair coats. Fainting goats are also horned or polled. The does make excellent mothers and usually have twins or triplets but on occassion will have quads.

Close to My Heart

We love our herd and take great pride in raising healthy, happy goats. We are constantly striving for the health of our herd. Every goat is checked upon every day. We know each of our goats' personalities and how they should act each day when we greet them. If something is even slightly off we will know it. Our mission is health and quality, not quantity. All of our goats are wormed and vaccinated regularly. We take a lot of precautions to keep our herd disease free and now test all new goats to our farm for CL. With the increasing popularity of goats comes the increase in diseases spread and we will make every effort to maintain our herd free from CL and CAE.

Thanks for visiting us on the web... and we welcome your visit at the farm!
